The drawing from Lankester, 1906, emphasizes the primitively paired gill arrangement of this member of the Archaeogastopoda order. Primary gills and secondary gills (ctenidia), are arranged just outside the shell on the right and left sides of the mollusc. 
The coiled nature of this flattened shell is visible
